Unhindered Trust

firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.

"relations have to be built on trust"

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance about what we do not see.

When I first heard of Wipe Every Tear and the trips they offer, I was overwhelmed with joy. I remember feeling the Lord's hand over my decision to join the outreach trip and the excitement I felt knowing that Jesus was going to use ME to be a part of this Kingdom work! I couldn’t wait to be a vessel for Him, to show these women the power of Jesus and what He can do in someone’s life. But, Jesus had a very different plan for me. When I met these women, I recognized that I wasn’t the one that was going to be ‘rescuing’ them…. They quite literally rescued me.

I watched these beautiful girls step out of brokenness and into restoration with complete grace. The victory in their story was clearly a divine display of what complete surrender to Jesus and His healing power could look like. And there I was, on my knees, tears streaming down my face in Angeles City, realizing that Jesus will always and forever run after the one. His love for His daughters and sons could never be hindered by any evil.

I went to the Philippines thinking that Jesus was going to use me to radically save lives, but instead He used these women to radically save mine. He used them to show me what unhindered faith and trust in Him looked like. I could tangibly see what faith in Jesus was. I saw in these women an unwavering confidence no matter the circumstance. It was joy in Him in the midst of healing, it was peace in Him in the midst of trial, it was looking darkness in the eye and fighting it with the glorious light of Jesus and it was beautiful. It was life changing, and I have never been the same.
